big rigs

I've forgotten to write about one of DeVon's new interests - big trucks. Driving down to Provo those couple weeks ago, the only thing that entertained him was the big semi trucks. From the first one that he saw he was hooked. We passed it and he said "whoa!" and then did the sign for more. Then we would let him know when another truck was coming and he'd get so excited. He would again say "whoa" then do the sign for more. I lifted up the headrest of the front seat so he could see the trucks for longer as we were passing them. He loved it. He would spot trucks far ahead of us and just wait for them to be right out his window. Then he figured out he could see the big trucks coming the opposite direction on the freeway and follow them with his eyes all the way until it was out the window. He still reacts every time he sees one.

DeVon loves to scribble on paper. I have a notebook laying on the desk for when I help Tony with his math homework so sometimes to entertain DeVon, I give him a pen let him at it. He likes me to draw too so I'll write 'mommy' or 'daddy' and tell him what I wrote. Now when he scribbles he tells me that he wrote either 'mommy' or 'daddy' (obviously he doesn't say it, but rather signs it). He can tell me almost anything with his sign language.
