new digs

we've moved for the LAST time. Well, at least for now. We're now on the north central side of San Antonio. The only bad thing (ironically also the good thing) about our location is we are forever away from anything. okay, not that far away, but most of our places in the past have been in walking distance of a store. Our apartment is gorgeous and it's a two bedroom so DeVon doesn't have to sleep in our room anymore! We have some great friends in the complex and DeVon gets to play with his friends almost every day. As soon as I remember to get my camera out of the truck, i'll get some pictures. I am soooo looking forward to decorating this place. Tony and I have already discussed paint colors. That's how serious we are about not moving again! The decorating probably wont happen till next summer or fall, but we'll get there eventually. We're going to spend Thanksgiving with our friends here and Christmas in Houston. So excited for the holiday season! Oh, another thing I'm looking forward to is getting some family pictures. That, too, will have to wait though. Here are some (not so) recent (but DeVon doesn't let me take his picture so they're the only ones I have) pics: [Blogger picture uploading?.... so not happy with]

new job, new apartment (hopefully)

I had to turn down the Air Force job :( It would have been so good for us in the long run, but we don't have the luxury of looking past the short run at the moment. The age limit for the Air Force is 27, so who knows, if Tony ends up hating his job (which is highly unlikely) maybe I'll get back in. So Tony's now working at Rackspace. A high school friend of his lives out here in SA so they started hanging out and his friends like, apply where I work; it's called Rackspace. And the rest is history. So at his office, they have an onsite chiropractor and all you can drink fountain drinks. And everyone there is extremely experienced, so no crap you get with companies constantly hiring entry level people. His boss bought their team (Tony and 3 others) tickets to some hockey game tonight. And the mainstream corporate job begins! After working for himself for 2 years (2 hrs a day) it's weird having him gone all day. I can't just turn around and talk to him whenever I want. Now on to the new apartment. His friend lives in a gated apartment complex on the north side and we're in the process of moving there. We plan on moving on the 30th. Finally somewhere permanent enough I can decorate!!

So I researched the elementary school near our new apartment and they have PPCD! I'm thinking about enrolling DeVon next fall for speech therapy. Reed did it when he was 3/4 and I'm really excited about getting DeVon talking! After we move, I'll call the school and get the info about enrolling him.

I made Mel a new background for her new blog. melodeesknitknacks.blogspot.com Go check it out! I can't wait to see what she posts!

Air Force

For those of you who don't know, I finally got my job offer with the Air Force. They want me to go into Cyber Surety and report to Basic on January 25th! Could the timing be any worse though! I've been waiting for a job offer for several months now and it came on the same day Tony interviewed for an AWESOME job. They haven't officially hired him yet but they've made it clear they want him. It's for Rackspace and only .5% of applicants get hired, and he is one of them!! So now we have to decide if I should continue on in the Air Force or not. I'll either have to make the leap or not. Why can our lives never just be black and white! SERIOUSLY. I guess we're just complicated people so our lives insist on being complicated :) Cyber Surety is a great job though. It's one that'll be really easy to get a job with after the Air Force and I am looking to get into a career. I'm just not the stay at home all day homemaker type. Anyways, I'll keep everyone posted on what's going on.

No TV Tuesday

So, I'm officially declaring Tuesdays as "No TV Tuesdays". That includes computer. I was on the computer ALL day today. And all DeVon ever wants to do is play video games or watch Spongebob. I've had enough. We need to go outside and play soccer or golf. Especially since fall = amazing weather. So no email or facebook checking. Only the absolute necessities. (When tony sells, I have to input it on the computer). So who's with me!? It'll be better for everyone! Fresh air here we come!

san antonio, etc

We are now in San Antonio, TX. Moving sucked. It rained and our stuff got SOAKED. Been here almost a month now. I'm looking forward to eventually getting our new apartment decorated. I spent last week in Houston with my mom, Karissa, and Reed. DeVon calls Reed "wee-duh". Too cute!! He now says "please", also. It's irresistible. He was supposed to be going to bed, but he asked to eat (one of his stalling tactics). I was telling him no and he just goes "please" and I couldn't resist. He got out of going to bed for those extra 10 minutes while I fed him. So, in Houston, we had lots of fun. The main event was the children's museum. I don't want to slow down my blog with tons of pictures so here is a link to the facebook album:

While in Houston, my mom took me birthday shopping and I got some GREAT stuff. One thing I got was some supplies for a craft project. I made myself a chore board. A greatly needed chore board. My house looks amazing today! Here it is on it's first day in use:

To see how I made it, go HERE

My next project needs to be a menu board so if you have any ideas, let me know!

Hopefully I can get back in the habit of keeping up this blog. Oh, and for those of you who don't know, I joined the Air Force back in July and am waiting for my BMT report date. I'm DYING to get my job offer. My first two choices were Technical Applications Specialist and some Space Command job. I'm crossing my fingers I get one of those!!
